Summer Youth Camps 2025

All camps include hands-on exploration, inquiry, themed art projects, activities, stories, research practice, games, and daily museum time. 

Register now online, in-person at the museum or over the phone!  

All camps will take place M-F 1pm-5pm.

Drop-off window 12:45-1pm and pick-up window 5:00-5:15pm. 

Each camp is designed for ages 6-9.  Some age exceptions can be made.  Call the museum for details.

For ages 6-9 years old. 

Description: Despite often being overlooked in our daily lives, the ground can teach us a lot about the natural world, including the past, present, and clues to what the future holds! During this week of camp, students will explore different fields of science that rely on the ground to help us better understand the world, such as volcanoes, earthquakes, rocks, minerals, dinosaurs, fossils, and more through hands-on activities, demonstrations, and games!

Ladybug

Bug-Mania

July 28- Aug 1, 2025 Monday-Friday 1-5pm

For ages 6-9 years old. 

Description: While these critters are small, they shouldn’t be underestimated. For students who enjoy insects and spiders, this week of camp will be focused on these animals in addition to the significant role they play in our ecosystem! Students will have the opportunity to learn about pollinators, arachnids, beetles, and other insects through engaging hands-on activities in addition to observing preserved specimens and living stick bugs!

Amazing Astronomy

August 4-8, 2025  Monday-Friday 1-5pm

For ages 6-9 years old. 

Milky Way

Description: For this week, students will become junior astronomers as we learn about and investigate space through exploratory activities, tools, and models. They will gain a fundamental knowledge of the Milky Way as we explore the planets in our solar system in addition to the different stages of a star. Students will also explore the use of spacecrafts and the role of astronauts as we seek to gain a better understanding of the cosmos.
