The NHM will be hosting 4 weeks of Science and Nature Youth Summer Camps this summer.  Each camp will be daily from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be geared for students between the ages of 4-9 years old as of July. 

Science Heroes July 1oth– 14th 

This week, students will explore the world of science and the numerous fields in which scientists study and work. From Astronomy to Zoology and everything in between! Students will explore future careers in science through guest speakers, conducting experiments, and exploring their local environment.

Pollination Planet July 17th – 21st 

This week, students will observe the process of pollination and its importance in the ecosystem. Students will learn about flower growth and pollination processes through examination of museum specimens, native botanicals, and experimentation. We will identify and examine pollinators in action to learn what makes them so important!

Wildlife Detectives  July 24th – 28th

This week, students will be wildlife detectives! Students will learn about local wildlife and how to safely examine, track, and identify various fauna. Students will practice tool use, journaling, examine skulls & bones, identify and cast tracks, engage with live animals, and much more. Get your magnifying glasses ready!

From Dino Egg to Chicken July 31st – August 4st

This week, students will observe and discuss the process of evolution by examining fossils & bones and observing biological changes over time. Students will examine the fossilization process, create fossils, and compare findings to modern birds through hands-on activities, museum exhibits, guest speakers, and more!
